The federal government utilizes several integrated electronic systems to manage the acquisition lifecycle. These tools support vendor registration, contract writing, performance reporting, and subcontracting analytics to ensure transparency and efficiency in government contracting.
Integrated Award Environment (IAE) & Core Systems
System for Award Management (SAM)
The primary database for vendors doing business with the federal government. It is used for entity registration, exclusions, contract opportunities, wage determinations, and assistance listings.
Disaster Response Registry
A registry within SAM.gov used by contracting officers to locate contractors willing to provide debris removal, distribution of supplies, and other disaster or emergency relief supplies/services.
Federal Procurement Data System - Next Generation (FPDS-NG)
The central repository of information on federal contracting. While reports have migrated to SAM.gov, the core system is still used for contract action reporting and interfacing with agency contract writing systems.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA)
Formerly the directory of federal grants and assistance programs. Now fully migrated and known as Assistance Listings.

Acquisition Gateway
A workspace for federal acquisition professionals to access government-wide contracts, pricing tools, category management resources, and best practices.
Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS)
Maintained by the SBA, this database allows contracting officers and prime contractors to perform market research and find small businesses based on capabilities, NAICS codes, and socio-economic certifications.
USAspending.gov
The official source for accessible, searchable data on federal awards and spending, providing transparency on how government funds are obligated.
SBA Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert)
The SBA portal used to certify Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) to compete for set-aside contracts.
Federal Business Opportunities (FBO / FedBizOpps)
Formerly the central posting system for federal procurement opportunities over $25,000. Now fully migrated to SAM.gov.

GSA eBuy

Compliance, Performance & Subcontracting Reporting
Contractor Performance Assessment Reports System (CPARS)
The official system used by federal agencies to document and evaluate contractor performance on federal awards.
Electronic Subcontracting Reporting System (eSRS)
A web-based government-wide system that allows prime contractors and subcontractors to report on their subcontracting accomplishments and compliance.
FFATA Subaward Reporting System (FSRS)
The system that allows prime grant awardees and prime contract awardees to capture and report subaward and executive compensation data regarding their first-tier subawards.
VETS-4212 Contractor Reporting
The Department of Labor portal where federal contractors fulfill their legal requirement to report annually on affirmative action efforts to employ protected veterans.
Wage Determinations Online (WDOL)
Formerly the source for Service Contract Act (SCA) and Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) wage determinations. Now fully migrated to SAM.gov.
FAPIIS - Public View
The public-facing search for contractor responsibility and integrity records. The public view has migrated to SAM.gov, while government data entry happens via CPARS.

North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
The standard used by federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments; essential for determining small business size standards for contracting.
Product Service Code (PSC) Manual
Provides codes to describe the products, services, and research and development (R&D) purchased by the federal government.
Treasury Offset Program (TOP)
Administered by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, this program collects delinquent debts owed to federal agencies and states, and is used to verify vendor debt status prior to award.
